When the scope itself goes out of scope

Experience has taught me that it pays to define a project properly before you begin.

By Vilbert Gústafsson

Scope is supposed to keep you on track.

Then I tried the same prompt, the same task and the same scope document on two different models.

The result:

Model A: 11,295 words Model B: 2,747 words

Same task. Same definition. Completely different interpretations of what “within scope” means.

A useful reminder that scope is not just a document. It also needs to be clear enough to be hard to negotiate with.

Sometimes you do not know whether to laugh or cry. 🤣
